Laurie London, a.k.a. The Process Doc, brings over 25 years of experience to her clients’ business needs. Most recently, Laurie served as Bose® Corporation’s Retail Operations Manager. She was responsible for developing, aligning, and documenting business processes that today — 100 stores later — remain the foundation for the retail division’s operational excellence.


Laurie’s expertise has been built through affiliations with diverse venues, structures, systems, and of course, people, including World-renowned companies such as Bose Corporation, Williams- Sonoma, The Sharper Image, and Neiman Marcus. The non-profit sector including the USS Constitution Museum, Boston.  She was also a sole proprietor of both a design manufacturing company and a specialty boutique.

 

 Doug Fleener

President & Managing Partner

 

Doug Fleener is a veteran retailer with over 25 years of hands-on retail experience with world-class retailers including Bose Corporation and The Sharper Image. He has also owned and operated his own specialty stores.

In his ten years at Bose, Doug grew the Retail Direct Group from four to 100 stores and was instrumental in developing Bose’s unique and engaging retail methods.

 

Under Doug’s leadership, the Bose retail stores became one of the pre-eminent specialty retailers in consumer electronics, known for their highly customer focused approach and multi-media Bose Music Theater Show. Doug left Bose to continue to refine Experience Based Retailing and share with others his passion for customer and employee experiences.

 

Doug is a consultant, keynote speaker and author of numerous articles. Doug is the author of the book The Profitable Retailer.  He has been quoted in Entrepreneur magazine, The Christian Science Monitor, The Washington Post, Shopping Centers Today, and numerous other newspapers and magazines.  Press.

Matt Norcia

Matt Norcia has over 20 years of experience in all facets of retail and customer service. For the past 10 years Matt served in the training and development department for Bose Corporation's sales organization.

Matt was instrumental in developing and delivering some of the company's most innovative, dynamic, and successful training programs in a variety of areas including customer service, selling,
and operations.

As a training specialist, Matt has earned a reputation as an effective, entertaining, and personable presenter. His unique approach also applies to the materials he has created to support his
training solutions. His use of video, music, and alternative media  to reinforce key points has earned accolades from clients as well as
students.

Matt is a member of the American Society of Training and Development (ASTD), the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM), and the American Film Institute (AFI).

Matt lives outside Portland, Maine with his wife and their young son. In his spare time, Matt enjoys cooking, writing fiction, and watching movies.


Nancy Proman

Nancy Proman’s retail career spans over 30 years of department and specialty store soft-lines experience. As a dress and sportswear buyer for Dayton’s Department Stores (now Macy’s), Nancy regularly traveled to New York and also worked on import product development programs in Asia. She left the corporate life in 1980 and opened her own small chain of maternity clothing stores. Nancy found success as an independent retailer.  She was profitable and loved what she did.  Nancy can help you do the same.

Nancy brings a wealth of practical knowledge for the small retailer including buying, merchandising, and advertising.  More important, she's a good coach and a good mentor.

Nancy resides in Minneapolis, Minnesota with her husband. She has a married daughter and adult son who live out of state. Nancy is a member of Fashion Group International, and serves on the board of a local non-profit. For fun, Nancy enjoys yoga, bicycling, gardening, gourmet cooking, and travel.
